I’ve always had a love of nature, and particularly of insects. When I began engaging more seriously with photography back in 2006 or so, these interests immediately pushed me toward macro photography. I bought a used Fuji FinePix Zoom, and I adored this camera. Sadly, this camera died a slow death around the time my son was born (2011) and I replaced it with a point and shoot Olympus with a set of macro lenses in the spring of 2018. Although the point-and-click nature of the Olympus pairs well with my working mom gig, I can’t say we had the happy relationship I enjoyed with my Fuji, so I recently replaced it with an Olympus OM Mark-I, which is looking far more promising (see the photos of my cats and the marco photo of the cat eye for examples).
My other hobbies include epee, yoga, puzzle-solving (I love escape rooms!), and video games.
